Registration and Transfer Policies:
Breeders/current owners are responsible for all transfers prior to or at the point the dog changes owners.
Litter registrations:
All litter registrations must be submitted no later than twelve weeks after litter is whelped (hardship exceptions considered on a case by case basis). Pups must be microchipped at the time of registration. Pups not registered within the required time frame will incur a late fee (refer to the fee schedule).
All litters must be registered to new owners by the breeder, NOT by the new owners. Any pups not yet placed will be registered in the breeder’s name. Once pup is placed, the breeder will email the registrar providing new owner information within fourteen days after sale. Late submissions will incur a fee (refer to fee schedule).
Transfers:
When transferring/rehoming dogs to a new owner(s), the current owner must fill out the ‘Transfer of Ownership’ portion of the AKDA certificate. Once completed, submit to the registrar along with appropriate transfer fee for completion. Transfers not submitted within the specified time frame will incur a fee (refer to fee schedule).
Submission of transfer is to be presented to the registrar within fourteen days of the date of sale.
Date of sale is considered the date the dog is handed over to the buyer or the buyers agent.
